Save up for a reissue Whammy? Just a thought.
It will sound closest to the original WH-1, although the original is a bit 'dirtier' due to the 16-bit vs 24-bit chip that is in the reissue.

to be honest I'm actually surprised/amazed how good that sounds using the octave!

still a great effort, i really enjoyed the sound. as said im much more of a fan of people trying to get his sound w/out his actual gear, and i think that's a great example.

Wow that actually does sound pretty freaking awesome for the fact that it's with an Octave pedal. A Whammy would have you all set but good job! I do see where you got lost in the Octave. I never would have considered using a straight up Octave pedal for Real Thing. If you can find ways of playing Edge's stuff with alternative gear, good on ya!
