POD XT Live Trick

Hey fellow guitar players! For those of you who are having trouble getting a good tone from your XTLive out of a combo amp, I found a trick on the Line6 website. They suggest that intstead of plugging the guitar into the amp's line in jack, you should run the guitar into the effects return. In other words the sign path would be Guitar -> POD XTL -> Amp effects return with nothing plugged into the amp's line-in jack. They also recommend selecting the Combo PWRAMP setting, but I find that the Studio Direct works better.

This completely bypasses the amp's coloring of your sound.

i dont have a podxt live but the effects loop feature on my amp is great. it gives you the sound of the guitar straight into the amp and the 'effected' sound . . . and you can control the level of each. way cool

What is effects return of an amp ? How to run the guitar into effects return ?

I bought Pod XT live a week ago. It does not sound good with my Vox AD30, so I use amplifier of my home stereo as an amp for XT.

I like distorted and overdriven sound of XT, but for clean sound I prefer my "old" gear: BOSS CS-3,SDD-2000 & Vox AD30.

BTW. I would like to discuss about XT.
