Any kind, talented soul figured that one out? Or perhaps bought the book and is willing to transcript it here?

I have 2 U2 books for Piano - exactly what might you need. I'm a little rusty ...

For guitar
e---------10-12----8-10-7
b------10-------------------
g----------------------------
d----------------------------
a--12-----------------------
e----------------------------

Piano solo is actually on e string something like this
e-7-8-10--8-10-12--12-10-8-7--7-8-5

heheh! so it's got new year's day? It'd be cool if you could scan it in...

U2 music books are terribly expensive... sigh.

No way to scan it, sorry. I requested them for Xmas last year

I'd like to see a transcript aswell to refresh my memory. I used to be able to play it, but that was a long time ago.

New Year's Day

I'll break it up into small parts.

Part 1
Left Hand:
Ab-------------------------------

Right Hand:
------Ab-Db-Eb---B-Db-Bb---

Part 2
Left Hand:
Gb-------------------------

Right Hand:
----B--Bb-Bb---Bb-B-Db-

Part 3
Left Hand:
E-----------------------------

Right Hand:
---Eb-Db-B-B---Bb-B-Ab--

Part 4
Left Hand:
Gb-------------------

Right Hand:
Bb---Bb-B-Db-------Guitar starts....

Repeat Part 1 a few times at the beginning. In concert The Edge plays a couple notes before repeating Part 1 (Bb, Ab?). Also, I think he plays more notes with the Left Hand to sort of mirror the Bass line. Keep in mind that if you're going to play the guitar parts too, you need to tune down 1/2 step (or transpose the piano part up 1/2 step)
