Well I've been working away at this for ages, as some of you know, but
I think I'm getting slightly closer to recreating the live wah A3
preset used for Mysterious Ways. In this one I've turned down the Wah2
Sens enough that the whoosh lasts much longer than on the studio
version - I've always considered that to be the biggest difference. I
might have too much overdrive on though, I'll fiddle around with that
a bit and upload another one:

Mysterious Ways with the Korg A3 - eSnips, share anything

I made one or two timing slips at the start but it gets into the
proper rhythm after one or two bars, as I say I'll redo it properly
later and put up the next one - does anyone have any suggestions on
how I could improve this? I still wonder if there isn't something else
on the live version, like a different overdrive before the A3 (in this
I used the built in OVD2) or maybe some drive AFTER the A3? Any ideas?

Les Paul, rhythm pickup -> Korg A3, modified chain A0 preset (76 on
SPC-01) -> Kustom amp (clean channel)

Frankly, I'd be more interested in reading your A3 settings as a possible comp for the Elevation sound than for Mysterious Ways.

Your clip doesn't really sound all that much like MW to me, live or otherwise. I don't know exactly how you altered the Funkwah patch, but maybe it's just your strumming. It sounds like there're a lot of unnecessary strums in there. Hit it hard with one good downstroke per chord, don't play it like an acoustic guitar.
