I have a question. I've seen a picture where i see that edge uses dm4 pro for boots in the grammy awards 2009. The question is. If edge doesn't use fuzz gun in "Boots" Why he take that pedal in the rack?

the pedals in the rack are Synth Wah, Boss CS-3, EH POG, Harmonic Trans and Fuzz Gun. I think the only he uses is the synth wah and maybe CS-3 but i dont know where. I think boss is a part of a loop

Who said he's not using it at all? I am not sure either way.

I think there was a NS-2 there, also? Particularly for "Boots".


The mini rack was set up for the promo shows; things like BBC Fordham University GMA show. It wasn't just for the Echo (Germany), Brit (UK) and/or Grammy Awards (US). So the mini-rack was meant to be used for more than just "Get On Your Boots".

Yes. The Line 6 DM4, Digitech, Synth Wah and Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor are part of the tone for "...Boots". I believe that one or more of the Fender amps are used, as well.

Whatever happened to the theory of the GE-7 being used for the particularly shrill/trebly intro sound, just before he switches on the Synth Wah?

There's no way I can come close to that sound, only way I could think of is to mess with the Equalizer. Anyone?

Also, is it possible the Wah is used in the parked position for the intro? If you listen to it, it's not a clean sound but sounds as if there's a hint of wah in it. He switches to the Wah anyway for the bridge, but the main riff (especially that shrill intro sound) seems to have a Wah.
