HTDAAB DVD: "eternal" Vertigo riff

Hello! Anyone knows where to find the "eternal riff" Edge demostrated on the HTDAAB DVD? All I have are 3 chords and my acoustic guitar, but i'll try to impersonate him!

Yup, lots of practice.

Try also stretching out your fingers throughout the day when you're not playing. Don't do anything painful, just gently stretch them from time to time and it will help your flexibility.

finger 3 (middle) on string 4 (fret 7)

First of all, you're incorrectly naming the fingers. For guitar, it is
finger 1: index
finger 2: middle
finger 3: ring
finger 4: little finger

Second, that chord is a lot easier if you fret it like
finger 4: string 3
finger 3: string 4
finger 1: string 5

if you are a beginner at playing guitar, here is some advice. i think before you focus on playing specific songs, you should first get all the basic chords down (open chords and barre chords), as well as getting good at switching between chords fast, and also know what each note is on each fret. that is how you should first start out on guitar. it will help you down the road i think.

I wholeheartedly second that. . . vertigo is not (by any means) a good song to learn to play guitar (or u2 for that matter). Try mastering something easy like Yahweh (Acoustic) that will teach you chords - learn the basics before (re-?)learning barre chords and go from there.

If you want a nice exercise song-focused, try desire. Easy chords, fast changes, will give you some headaches in the very beginning, but then Itll be nice. Then, Angel of harlem, When love comes to town, one, so many...
Later you can focus on riffs and solos. This is my suggestion.
