Have pod, need end stage amp!
Fellow guitarists, I need an end stage amp for my rig under construction. Its core is the Pod XT Pro which comes with its own pre amp. So I only need something for the final stage and some speakers. I had my eyes on a 2nd hand Marshall 9200 2x100W. Problem is, I took the Pod to the store and it sounded a bit lifeless. Because of this and because the store owner is really the biggest jerk I've ever come across the Marshall is out.

You will need power amp (good if it's tube poweramp - sounds the best with pod) and any speaker/cabinet ( 2x12 or 4x12).
That Marshall you mentioned is ok, or look for something like Peavey Classic series 60/60. You should try different combinations - with/without cabinet simulation and so on... It really sounds great when you spend some time for setting it. |
