OK, I'm here in Sydney Australia, I have a Rickenbacker (2 Rickenbackers come December) A Vox AC30 and a delay pedal

I really want to figure out songs like Streets, I have the books, but it just ain't happening.. any other musos in town wanna get together for a few quiet guiness's (guinnii?) and play some U2??

Cancel the second Ricky and order a Fender Strat instead. It's THE guitar for Streets.

Heh, yeah, I got a squire strat as well, no way I'm cancelling the second rick though, my girlfriend just bought me a fireglo 330/12 as a xmas pressy.

It's not so much the delay settings messing me up, I think it is more the strumming pattern, at times I feel like Ive almost got it, then it slips away

Delay settings are crucial since an delay set incorrect will f*** up your strumming no matter what. Streets never sounded right for me either until I started using a digital delay that I could set to right millisecond.

Other then that, since you have the books and some google-fu will get you some decent tab sites using U2 tabs or U2 tablature, not a whole lot I can do to help you.
