FA-1 clone

My Fa-1 is a yellow one from HWA build by speeddemon. A HCFX forumite. It has all original features plus a footswitch. Lovely edge tone with a vox.

So what exactly does the FA-1 do and in what way does Edge use it?

I think this pedal is a copy of an early Boss unit, now long discontinued, that was essentially an FET line booster. I don't recall the Boss having a footswitch. The original Boss is quite collectible now. I read somewhere or other that Edge used one in the early days, but then again there probably aren't many pedals he hasn't used at some time or other, so how critical it was to his sound I cannot say.
