Redding, CA..... Yeah, I know, shut up.
I cant find this anywhere....

That fuzz soudn that Edge uses sounds so... full. It seems like a total n00b question, but sometimes you just have to ask.

What does he have to get that sound?

I am not too familiar with what he uses for distortion/fuzz, but I need to have whatever that is. That sound is great... Like I said, it has a certain "full" sound that I haven't heard from a distortion.

The second more direct question is, what the hell is that effect? It can't be a wah, it is too mellow. You see him on the Chicago DVD pushing a pedal in tempo with the song, to my ears, it sounds like a phaser, but I have never heard of a phaser being controlled by pedal.

Anything, anyone?

Thanks.

From what I've read the Rab fuzz is something he only used for the Vertigo tour. On the album it was the Electrix Filter factory, a 19" rack mounted filter.
Besides those he uses a different distortion during the verse and pre-chorus/chorus. Probably a tremolo during the more quiet bridge part.

its a kay fuzz pedal which was put into another casing
and called the rab fuzz ...

if you have a pod xt you can get the same type
of effect sound using a Expression pedal to
control the sweeps on the fuzz octo or big muff
setting ..

perfect example is in the video el_milagro
posted thats a pedal sumone made for sumone
and it sounds great but another alternative
is the pod xt/pro/live with expression pedal
