Dallas Schoo said he uses 17 different guitars during the Elevation concerts. Thats basically 1 guitar for every song!!!!

If you check the u2.com tour page there is a recent interview with dallas (edge's guitar tech) were he says edge has brought 46 out on the vertigo tour and I rember hearing he has over 100 in the studio I reckon he has probably 200 + guitars I can easily imagine. Sounds crazy but its edge!

Maybe on tour, but on record, according to the recent Guitar World article he used an old Gibson J-200 in the verses and solo.
 
its a Fernandes Decade. it's damn cool -- Edge uses fernades guitars for With or Without You because Fernandes builds really good infinite-sustain systems and puts them in their guitars.
 
That list I posted is just the live guitars. I don't think anyone has a record that in depth of the studio recordings.
 
One little correction to make your list even better (than the real thing....) during ZooTV Edge Used the 72 Les Paul Custom for WGRYWH or atleast if you watch the Stockholm DVD you can see this
 
Does anyone know where the guitar edge uses for discotheque/velvet dress is avalible or how to get a close sound like it????

As for Bono though, a couple of additions:

Gone - pretty sure that is the Blue Sparkle ES175 on the Popmart also the Red Sparkle that he used on LNOE

might be good to also note the acoustics - on the Joshua Tree acoustics I believe that was the Gibson EC-20 (maybe slightly different model) but its that black one with the Florentine cutaway. Also used the Hummingbird, both in a green and sunburst.

and, I dont know what song this is, but he has also used a Sunburst 335 live on at least one or two occasions, I have seen pics but I have no footage of him actually playing it.
 
Can you make a similar list but specific to a tour, like Vertigo?

And can you summarize what his mains guitars are?

Edge used one of two Fernandes Decade Elites with sustainer pickup in the neck position - for Velvert Dress and Discotheque during the PopMart tour.

The sea foam green was a custom colour. That nasty burnt orange one he had was actually a stock colour... go figure.

Was it to make it Wikipedia-friendly that you put all stratocasters together or because you didn't know?

I try to maintain a list of all his guitars, which currently lists more than 10 stratocasters. ^^
 
Fernandes Decade Elite

Only place to find a Decade Elite these days is used shops and E-Bay. It is and has been out of production for 5+ years.

You can get a RetroRocket, like the one used on the Vertigo tour (With Or Without You). But they do not come standard in black, like Edge's.
