on the elevation tour, for songs like mysterious ways, gone, even better than the real thing. i never noticed this, but its coming from dallas schoo. i 'think' its called a rickenbaker (?), it's orange in color.

any confirm this? and what other experience does he have with 12 strings? any on vertigo tour, or popmart, zootv etc??

He uses a 12 string every time he has ever played those songs you mentioned, regardless of the tour. He has the classic red one seen in Zoo TV and Popmart. Then we see a Black on Boston Elevation which "magically" switches to red right before he throws his guitar down and kicks it. I don't know if he killed that guitar at that point b/c I don't think I've seen it since. Anyone know about this? They didn't play any of those songs on the 3rd leg and I've only seen that black one 1 time, the Boston DVD. It seems to me that he threw the guitar on night one then edited it into the DVD so that it was more "rock'n'roll". But then he had the black on the second night. I need to know these things!!! Anyways, back on track. Lastly he has a natural wood grain one he's been using on Vertigo (the tour not the song).

Mmm, he's used it on every song from the day they were written I guess...and I think he MAY have had it as early as [or earlier than] Rattle and Hum, but since the movie's in B/W it's hard to tell  that may be the RickenBacker 12 string (is it called a 360-12, 330-12 or SOMETHING like that??) he's playing on 'Angel of Harlem' in Sun Studio.

edge actually has at least 5 of these ric's they are all rickenbacker 330 12 strings except for one. it is a rickenbacker 360 12 string in jetglo(black) and actually he has had these guitar since the jashua tree days. they were used in the recordings for "Desire" and Angel of Harlem and his rics are all from the 60's believe or not .
