Hello everyone,

I'm new to the site my name is Peter from Galway, in Ireland and I'm 22. I'm an average guitar player but I am fascinated with the edge's use of effects to differentiate himself from most other "predictable" players.

I have had a BR-532 for a while but I can't seem to record vocals very well on it. I cannot get rid of the background noise even with a shure sm-57. I plug the mic directly into the 4-track and sing.
I am only starting to learn the ins and outs of recording so bare with me.

Does anybody know how I could improve this ?

first of all sit and read through the manual
check your input level once you conect the mic
and make sure its not over loading

always check that you have the effects switched off
i mean you could have sum reverb for vocals thats
fine but it could be left on a preset for example->guitar

i have the old Boss BR8 its pretty straight foward
but if your new to it sit down read through manual
and just check everything bit at a time
you shouldnt be getting any backround noise

hope you get it sorted cheers BB Mac
