does anyone know what model bass Adam is playing in this picture?

I know that it is a Lakland bass, but i have no idea what model it is. I looked on their site and didn't see it. Thanks a lot

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's the Darryl Jones signature model... the angle of the photo makes the upper horn look smaller than it actually is.

I recently emailed Dan Lakin of Lakland Bass guitars with some questions about Adam Clayton's "Vertigo tour" and Elevation tour Lakland bass guitars. He responded fast! You gotta love that in an equipment company!

Hi Jeffrey,

For the 2005 "Vertigo Tour" Adam is using four US Made Daryl Jones models:
(2) - Natural Jones with custom black blacks and no binding w/ maple necks.
(1) - Teal Green Metallic Jones with custom abalone blocks and no binding w/ maple neck.
(1) - Gold Jones with custom abalone blocks w/maple neck [Adam hasn't taken delivery of this one yet].

During the Elevation 2001 Tour, Adams used the following:
(2) US made, Joe Osborn signature models - one sunburst, one natural
(1) US made, Bob Glaub signature – natural finish.

Thanks,
Dan

I think he uses standard or medium or whatever it is that DR call their not heavy and not light string... probably the shadows on the fretboard from the string are what make the string look a gauge or two heavier than it really is.

Isn't he.

That scale is described by most bass string manufacturers as medium or standard.
