A question about Edge's picking.

How does he get that sharp, biting tone on his strings? Does he pick with a coin or something?

He uses Herdims, picking with the dimpled side. You can get other picks that have the dimples to give you a similar sound. I use Dunlop ones.

My dunlops don't either. The herdim ones have dimples on about half the picks, but you can get away with any pick that has them.

That's interesting. I didn't know that.
I use small Jazz 3 plectrums. They have a very precise point.

I've found that the dimples on the Herdim heavy teardrop picks (the blue ones) give the best texture to the sounds (deeper, rougher dimples I guess).
