Here's something a bit off topic but... have a look.

U2 FENDER STRATOCASTER OWNED AND SIGNED BY THE BAND IN 1987. RARE AND UNIQUE. | eBay

1970's Stratocaster that was autographed by all of U2 (1987). Complete with letter from Ellen Darst of Principle Management. (Legit)

Being that it wasn't a cheaper Strat... it's possible that it was owned by Edge. Not sure if he used in in the studio. I don't recall any pics of him with it on stage...

...maybe one of you has a rich uncle with $45K to spare? :D

but the question is: how can i be sure that guitar was U2 property?

Apparently the letter (included) from principle management.

That said, if it was owned by the band (Edge), I don't recall seeing him play it. But as it is a 1970's Strat... versus some 1987 era Squier or worse... that also leads me to believe there is a possibility that it was one that Edge owned but maybe didn't fall in love with.

The strings on it look like they haven't been changed since either '70 or '87. If only I had $45K burning a hole in my pocket...
