Will there be a song dedicated to the city of NEW ORLEANS?

They didn't write it, and it's not inspired musically by New Orleans.

But really, the whole idea I'm getting from this thread sounds like a very... R&H idea.

The best post-Katrina, New Orleans song has already been written, and it was somehow written 30-some years ago:

"City of New Orleans," by Arlo Guthrie. If you've never heard it, go to iTunes or wherever and listen to it, with Katrina in mind. Awesome and eerie, all at once.

I'm sorry, but "City of New Orleans" is about a *train*, not New Orleans...

Exactly. The train works as a metaphor for the mass exodus of refugees out of New Orleans, after Katrina.

"Good morning, America / How are you? / Don't you know me, I'm your native son

I'm the train they call the City of New Orleans / I'll be gone 500 miles when the day is done"

haha, sorry but can I ask why NEW ORLEANS is typed in caps in the thread title?! not taking the piss I'm just genuinely curious as to whether it's meant to take people by surprise and make them think OH YEAH!! What ABOUT New Orleans?!
