Why do you think this album is special?

I love the new album but something is bothering me about it. I cant decide if they have recapture what made U2 special or if they captured what they can be? do you think they caught a spark of the past or are still pushing toward the future?

That said, I think it's special.

Definitely pushing towards the future. The last 2 albums played it safe - they took a chance with this one, went for mood over just singles and that's what makes it special to me. It's too early to say this album is a masterpiece, but I know it's definitely a top 5 U2 album already. It may start climbing that ladder over time too...

It's damn good, and it shows that my favorite band still has it after 30+ years doing this.
With HTDAAB, they just proved they still had it after 20+ years.

And do we really know how replayable this album is? How long have we been listening to it again?
