OK, I finally heard this and I don't see how it can be compared to anything. All I could discern was vague guitar, some noises from Bono, and a pervading sound like water running into a tub.

Thinking again about this clip and the fact that Mercy is supposed to be on this album is making me think it's a bit darker and moodier, not as happy and bouncy as the last two albums. That doesn't necessarily mean it will be better, but it does mark a bit of change in overall mood.

^ strange how we have heard little if any on the progression of Mercy in the studio. I think they have pulled back and it wont be included on the album.

I too hope the album will be broody, something you can shoot the shit with.

I hope this album is something us fans can tell the U2 & Bono nay-sayers that "hey, U2 CAN still make music!" and not have to cringe when hearing HTDAAB and people making fun of spanish counting.
