yes I'm aware...."It was shitty?" was more of an inquiry, not really saying it is indeed a crap song....but it is disappointing if he was invited to hear a new song and he felt it really was "weird " (shitty) ....oh well

I'm not sure where I stand as far as ballads go on this new album...I don't know if they would be a good thing or bad thing for the album....

I just don't want cheesey stuff, that's my biggest concern...I want poetic, JT/AB style lyrics with no cheese....I will give a massive tip....for sure

Ballads don't have to be cheesy at all. I hope there will be ballads. I'd even say ballads are where U2's real strength is as a band, plus they give Bono more space to show his voice. Yes for ballads!!!!

Well, I'm more afraid of cheesy rockers... than of ballads.
I'd take any kind of song (Mofo/Stateless/Lemon/etc), quality being the only criteria. Oh, and I totally agree with JT/AB poetics..
