I'm so glad the version thats on the album was the one that made it. I like NLOTH2, but NLOTH is about 10x better

I've finally come around to the album version. But I still like the b-side.

nloth is the first track of the album. nloth 2 is the b-side for goyb, though it's apparently also a bonus track for nloth on itunes.

I love NLOTH2 I can see why they opted for the version they have on the album but don't think anyone would be disappointed if it was NLOTH2 made it without ever hearing the album version ever!

EDIT:

Now found out this was B side to GOYB, didn't buy the single as I knew it would be on the album, but had I did buy it, and got used to NLOTH2 weeks before hearing the album version of NLOTH I would of been peeved thinking they had watered down the track for the album...

Was gonna say would of been a great single too but now know its a B side!

I've only heard NLOTH(1). By far my favorite track. Absolutely amazing. I can't wait to hear it live.

Does anyone have a version of NLOTH2 that's bigger than the 6.9 meg one that was leaked way back when?

I assumed my deluxe box would come with a bonus track, but apparently McGuinne$$ wants me to spend even more money to hear it.

the album version is superior, but it's cool to have the 2nd one to vary.

I actually like NLOTH 2 a bit better. I wish the album version was like a hybrid between the two of them

I think NLOTH2 is a more listenable song, but NLOTH1 suits the album WAAAAAAYY more.

They made the perfect choice.

This is like the only sentence I agree with from the Pitchfork review...

Quote:
The title track's hard-nosed verse is torpedoed by its deflating fart of a hook.
This is absolutely 100% true. The song ABSOLUTELY ROCKS, but they absolutely BUTCHERED the chorus in the album version. It ruins the song for me. I love the rough, dark guitar storm going on during the verses and I love how Bono's voice is so flexible and great in the verses and then buuzzzzzzzzzzzzzz killlllllllll. No. No line on the horizon. No. No line. It's a horrible chorus hook which actually sounded decent in NLOTH2.

Both are good. I love the guitar in both versions, different yet both amazing. Chorus from 2 is better. Otherworldly sounds from 1 is better. Good stuff!
