Peter Paphides' album review in the Times of London is off the mark. I am especially troubled by his dismissal of "Moment of Surrender" as a "meagre tune." The song is U2 at its finest -- an uncluttered, infectious melody that tackles weighty issues with deft irony and brilliance. Very much a "One"-like effort, but, in my humble estimation, a tad bit more ambitious and magical. The song is a thoroughly satisfying musical journey. I really can't get enough of it.

Eager to hear what others think...

Anybody who calls Moment of Surrender a meagre tune has lost all credibility with me. This song is one of U2's most defining moments.

I think it has the same sort of mystique as One; i.e. it "came" when "God walked into the room."
