Ice cream (finally) and Crystal Ballroom clip

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Larry does not have papillae in his tongue. You can notice this on the video.
He don´t have taste buds.
That is why he is always so serious.
He is always wondering if someone gave him sugar or salt flavored ice cream.

So everyone knows the video was completely staged, right? That yet couldn't show actual pedestrians walking on the sidewalk unless they had signed waivers? Right? Right?

Not really.
They had to interview every single one of those people.
The ones that did not know who U2 band were, got to be in the video.

That is why you see those little kids running by. Others just hang by
the wall and wonder if they are going to play anything by "One Direction".

The old man on the bicycle, he don´t care. He only hears music by
the Grateful Dead. The girl with the dog , she don´t know them either.
She is just there for the FREE ice cream.

They all got paid with free ice cream at the end of the film shoot.

I honestly can't tell if you're trying to make a joke or if you're being serious... soooo yea.

I am joking around.
Never take me seriously, unless I write in capital letters.
U2 has been my favorite band since 1982 and I admire the guys as if they were
part of my family. I kind of grew up with them and we are almost the same age.
We have to joke around a little bit because they dont expect their fans to
take them seriously either. They have said this many times before.

The only thing we should take seriously is their music, they work hard at trying to
make the perfect songs. Sometimes they do and sometimes they dont.
Its like a lot of things in life. We do not have to like them all, but at least we
should give them credit for trying their best and trying to make this world
a better place for everyone

There were interviews back then with people who "just passed by" and were surprised to see U2 perform. I think someone mentioned Bono buying them an ice cream. They were residents, as far as I remember. I don't think it was staged. If I remember correctly, they played "Desire" for the people there. I'm just wondering what that wicked Elvis thing was all about.

Okay sooooo the band isn't really allowed to use anyone's likeness without their consent. That's kinda illegal.

Could they have all randomly walked through, not noticed the biggest celebrities in the country singing in front of them with video cameras surrounding them, and then signed the consent after the fact, feeling foolish? Sure, I suppose that's possible.

But more likely the residents stumbled upon them, were asked if they'd like to participate, and then participated.

Here´s what I have found out from the internet, just out of curiosity
because of this promo-video ...

The Irish Times reports that a music industry insider said that the release schedule will
go something like this: “single in September, album September-October, tour announced
December, first date April next year.”
Apparently, the album has been done for months
but the label decided to not release it during the summer.

There was also a last-minute scramble to come up with a big single for the album and
they brought in Adele producer Paul Epworth to help. At a music conference in May,
former U2 manager Paul McGuinness talked about the album, “It’s great. It’s very
different from what they have done so far but still sounds like U2. Bono sings better
than ever. As he gets older his voice is even more interesting
.”

Now that the album appears to be finished, the next step is promotion: fansite @U2
points to a tweet (in French) from Concept K Design indicating that a video is currently
being filmed in Nice.
We’ll see what comes out over the next few months — it’s been five years since
U2′s last album, No Line On The Horizon.
- Today In U2 Rumors: Album Finished, Video Shooting In Nice - Stereogum

So ,
perhaps this means they were filming something in NICE by the seaside for
a new U2 video.

Wait, so we're getting a single in September and then an album in October???? Awesome sauce.

*Bono jumps*

"How you doing?
Can I have a couple of ice creams? This young man needs an ice cream.
Would you like an ice cream?"

I don't know about you, but that wasn't Bono, that was Robin Williams

Yeah, I also thought it was strange.
What happened to the single in September? LOL I guess they just decided
to scrap the single and give away to everyone that free iTunes record.
Well, at least, its not just a single, but the whole album
That was a nice surprise. I am not complaining one bit ,and I do
wish they release the next record S.O.E. as a free download too.
The more u2 music , the happier I will be!

Are people annoyed because U2 is FORCING their ice cream on them without anyone asking for it? I see another PR disaster coming our way.

If there was a video being shot by one of the biggest, most recognizable celebrities in the world on your local sidewalk... how many people would just walk right by with a look of total disinterest?

In/around Dublin? Probably not that uncommon, to hear them tell of their lives there.

Okay, was there actually a link to a clip of Crystal Ballroom posted around here? Would someone mind posting it again?
