NLOTH isn't a bad song- but it sounds to me like a second-rate "Lady with a Spinning Head" Maybe I should try it out more.....
 
1. I'll go Crazy if I don't go Crazy Tonight (that name..god) for me one of the best U2 songs ever. It will def. end up in my top5 along with Bad, Gone, wowy and ultraviolet/ishfwilf

Overal I think this is absolutely brilliant. The 5 first songs + Fez are the best songs I've heard in many years. For me even the "worse" songs aren't that bad, I mean they fit in the album perfectly. These 2 years have been really good. The killers/coldplay and now U2 with a great album, Now I just need Philcollins and gabriel to release a new one and I'm done :)
 
1- Magnificent, Unknown Caller, Moment of Surrender and Fez are GENIUS...
I can't describe how much i love Unknow Caller...

Those songs are "converte me" songs... If i were a 14 years old and had the chance to listen to this, i'd search who's playing, would buy the record etc...

As a critic of 00's U2, i must say i didn't expect U2 to blow me away like they are doing again...

9/10 UC and Mag - the former could have been greater if a bit shorter


7/10 crazy/NLOTH - prefer bits of NLOTH2, but overall album version just edges Crazy_ not as poppy as I thought it would be but has potential

5/10 Stand Up - oh dear - great potential but (hendrix, not Zep) guiotars make for a great start but not heavy enough


2/10 fez - c side at best

2- Get On Your Boots (this is since the album leaked; I've listened to it about 80 times total) Fez-Being Born.
 
If anyone wants some time to kill, it'd be interesting to see an aggregation of the results on this thread. Y'know, 11 points for #1, 10 points for #2, 9 for #3 etc, and then average them all out. Gives a better idea about how people feel about songs than simple polls for favorite/least favorite. Although I'd love to procrastinate even more from my thesis, I can't spare the time to do this now. Anyone else? :wink::wink::wink:

11) GOYB (Vertigo... minus catchy). 5/10

These are just my thoughts... and this adds up to 7/10 for the album in the early stages.
