If its the latter, well then it shows how much of a risk U2 is taking. The whole let me in the sound part probably is throwing everyone off because it feels like it doesn't belong in the song. However listening to it in the context of the album, it makes sense, where Fez-Being Born seems to be the part where U2/the listener are finally "let into the sound"
