Ha! That's definitely thinking outside the box to stick Vertigo in your tracklist!

Here's mine. It was hard not to put Miracle first - it seems so clearly to be an opening track, but I wanted Reach first. I see some put it after California or Invisible, but I decided putting it after Crystal Ballroom worked best.

This is Where You Can Reach Me Now
Invisible
Crystal Ballroom
Miracle
EBW (acoustic)
Sleep Like a Baby Tonight
Cedarwood Road
The Troubles

I decided to try something different. It seemed to work on first listen. Then again, I was on meth at the time so I'm going to try it again while sober later this evening.

1. This Is Where You Can Reach Around
2. Invisible (album version)
3. Every Breaking Wave
4. California
5. Volcano
6. The Crystal Ballroom
7. Song For Someone
8. Iris
9. Raped By Wolves
10. Sleep Like A Baby Tonight
11. Cedarwood Road
12. The Troubles

1. Reach Me Now
2. Volcano
3. Raised by Wolves
4. Cedarwood Road
5. Every Breaking Wave
6. California
7. Iris
8. Song for Someone
9. The Miracle
10. The Troubles
11. Sleep Like a Baby Tonight.

This is what I've been using lately and I really like it.

Reach is a great opener, better than Miracle. It flows great into Volcano (unless you don't like Volcano, obviously).

EBW sounds great after the more agressive starting combo.

Song for Someone is a nice break and the Miracle sounded to me a lot more fresh near the end, right after SFS.

Following bobsaget's advice I moved SLABT after Troubles and I thought that it's a great closing combo, with Troubles' sudden ending leading into SLABT which has more breathing space at the end to work as a great closer.

Here's the one I'm listening to now:

Side A

1. The Miracle
2. The Crystal Ballroom
3. Every Breaking Wave(Acoustic)
4. California
5. Invisible
6. Iris
7. Song For Someone

Side B

8. Raised By Wolves
9. Volcano
10. Lucifer's Hands
11. This Is Where You Can Reach Me Now
12. Sleep Like A Baby Tonight
13. Cedarwood Road
14. The Troubles

I think there are some great transitions here(Crystal Ballroom->EBW Acoustic(my preferred version of EBW atm), Invisible->Iris, SFS->RBW, Lucifer->Reach->Sleep). I feel like adding Crystal Ballroom and Invisible to Side A gives it some more weight and helps make the album feel more balanced. Also like the placement of Cedarwood in the penultimate slot in the tradition of The Electric Co., Exit, Acrobat, Dirty Day, Please, and New York, and I know it's something others have done as well.

I enjoy messing around with track listings too much.

Side A:
1. This is Where You Can Reach Me Now
2. Invisible
3. Crystal Ballroom
4. Every Breaking Wave
5. California
6. Song for Someone

Side B:
7. Iris
8. Cedarwood Road
9. Lucifer's Hands
10. Sleep Like a Baby Tonight
11. The Troubles

Reach Me Now was the absolute perfect song to open the album, I can't believe they swapped it out for the Miracle. I guess it wasn't pop enough to capture people's attention after they went with the "let's give EVERYONE the album!" approach and they needed a 'hit' to encourage the Top 40 crowd to keep listening, which I totally understand...but sonically, it just works so much better.

I'm not particularly fond of Lucifer's Hands, but it fits better than the Miracle in this sequence. Same goes for RBW and Volcano.

Double Album version
Side A
1 Ordinary Love (Epworth Mix)

10 Volcano
11 Raised By Wolves
12 Cedarwood Road
13 Sleep Like A Baby
14 Reach

Been working on a new tracklist here... This is what I have right now, it's pretty good IMO:

01. Every Breaking Wave (Acoustic)
02. Iris
03. Lucifer’s Hands
04. Invisible
05. Raised by Wolves
06. The Crystal Ballroom
07. Sleep Like a Baby
08. Cedarwood Road
09. This is Where You Can Reach Me Now
10. California
11. The Troubles

I wonder if the new tracks on SOE will sound similar enough to be mixed in with SOI tracks. I guess it would be called Songs of Innocence and Experience.

Listened to this record the other day with invisible and crystal ballroom on the record.

1 invisible
2 the crystal ballroom
3 every breaking wave
4 California
5 iris
6 volcano
7 miracle
8 raised by Wolves
9 cedarwood road
10 song for someone
11 the troubles

Invisible lead single
Crystal ballroom 2nd
Every breaking wave 3rd

1. The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)
2. Invisible (RED edit)
3. Every Breaking Wave (Acoustic sessions)
4. Iris (Hold Me Close)
5. Song For Someone
6. Volcano

7. The Crystal Ballroom
8. Raised By Wolves
9. Cedarwood Road
10.This Is Where You Can Reach Me Now
11.Sleep Like A Baby Tonight
12.The Trouble

has a really nice flow to it and kind of reminds me of the mood of POP for some reason

My set list in which I try and remain true-ish to the original:

California
Song For Someone
Iris
Volcano
Raised By Wolves
Cedarwood Road

Had this one going for awhile but thinking of another one:

The Miracle
Lucifers Hands
Every Breaking Wave
California
Song For Someone
Iris
Invisible
Volcano
Raised By Wolves
Cedarwood Road
Sleep Like A Baby
Reach Me Now
The Crystal Ballroom
The Troubles

Overture:
The Troubles

Main Set:
The Miracle
Song for Someone
California
Iris
Volcano
Raised By Wolves
Cedarwood Road
Reach Me Now
Every Breaking Wave (Radio Mix)
The Crystal Ballroom
Sleep Like A Baby Tonight

Finale:

I like the idea of the Troubles setting the stage for the time period and the anxiety of the era. I also like ending on Invisible, as a set up for Experience

13 - The Troubles

The Miracle can do one

So, what is your alternate tracklist? Do you add the new songs, or do you replace any songs with them? Do you keep the original songs, but play them in a different order? Here's mine:

01. Lucifer's Hands - (I think they were really wanting this to open, but just didn't quite get there)
02. The Miracle - (actually flows quite well after LH)
03. Invisible - (as others have said, goes well after Miracle. I don't love how it goes into EBW though)
04. Iris - (I like the fade in following the Invisible outro)
05. Volcano - (has to stay after Iris, thematically and sonically)
06. Raised by Wolves - (like the original flow)
07. Every Breaking Wave - (sounds great after RBW)
08. California - (have to keep the flow with the waves > bells)
09. Song for Someone - (again, good original positioning after California)
10. The Crystal Ballroom - (it is hard to fit in, the start is a bit jarring in any position, but this works best)
11. Sleep Like a Baby - (sounds great after TCB)
12. TIWYCRMN - (original positioning after SLABT is perfect)
13. Cedarwood Road - (works in the way Breathe did, late rocker to pick the pace up)
14. The Troubles - (great closer, except)
15. SLABT (AP mix) - (appears as a reprisal, complete the story. I love the idea of both songs appearing).

I am listening to your order now and love it. I added in Ordinary Love after Cedarwood Road. I will post mine later on.

01. The Miracle
02. Invisible
03. California
04. Song For Someone
05. Iris
06. Every Breaking Wave
07. Volcano
08. Raised By Wolves
09. Cedarwood Road
10. Sleep Like A Baby
11. Reach Me Now
12. The Troubles

Soi&e

I decided to make a playlist that incorporates some of the SOE songs that have come out. I used some of the ideas for SOI and added in SOE songs. It will be fun to hear the complete picture once SOE comes out. I will definitely be making a complete Songs of Innocence and Experience playlist at that point. Until then, check this out. I tried adding in the newer songs earlier in the set but they didn't really work thematically for me. I had wanted to connect Volcano, Lucifer's Hands, and American Soul somehow based on the similarities. But I went for a sort of story arc.

1. The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)
2. Invisible (Red edit)
3. Song for Someone
4. California
5. Every Breaking Wave
6. Iris (Hold Me Close)
7. Volcano
8. Lucifer's Hands
9. Raised By Wolves
10. This Is Where You Can Reach Me Now
11. The Crystal Ballroom
12. Sleep Like A Baby Tonight
13. Cedarwood Road
14. Ordinary Love
15. You're The Best Thing About Me
16. Get Out of Your Own Way
17. American Soul
18. The Blackout
19. The Troubles
20. Every Breaking Wave (acoustic)
21. Sleep Like A Baby (alternate)

Will probably be able to make a really solid album mixing the best from SOI and SOE.

I am so looking forward to this.

I’m thinking 14-16 tracks.
And I think it’s gonna be spectacular.

Shoe ins from SOI:
Crystal Ballroom
EBW
The Troubles
SLABT
RBW
Volcano instead of American Soul

Shoe ins from SOE:
The Blackout
(Most likely) Little Things
13 will probably replace SFS

Likely contenders from SOE (based on reviews):
Red Flag Day
Love is All We Have Left
Summer of Love
The Showman????

I’m excited to get the ultimate mix :)

Yes, it will be interesting to see what we can do with the two albums... Personally, neither Volcano nor American Soul will be making the cut. Lol. I have no problem with a musical reprise of SFS, I like the idea, and I'm actually hoping 13 will add something to SFS for me (I waffle on that song a lot).
