The Publisher of Total Guitar is Future. Future also publishes Rhythm and seems there is an association with Music Radar Online.

It looks like the Total Guitar article is rehash of interviews from earlier in the tour. Some of the pictures appear to be from the Music Radar Online article. And the black Les Paul Custom pictured in the article isn't even one of Edge's guitars!

Similarly, U2.com mentioned that the Rhythm magazine interview was already published in Hot Press earlier this year. The only new bits there were the brief bit with Sam O'Sullivan and the gear pictures. (Which are more than welcome for a gear nut like me).

But as an overall picture, seems that the publishers could have done better. And that they are in short, lazy. Cool magazines to have in one's collection but the publishers really could have done better.
