In the end, who/what is meant when "a presence I can feel" ending comes up? Is it John Lennon (if the song is related to a book about him) or - by "presence" usually something more spiritual is named - a spirit? God?
 
Good question.

IMO it has to be God, because it is always a presence you can feel.

Or it could just be Love, maybe re: to Ali, she is his anchor even when they are apart from each other.
