My son has made a "live U2"CD compillation for me. It is just wonderful, especially Streets. It begins with Bono speaking. I don't know it all, but it ends with

some beg and dreamt of other roads
some begged and dreamt of other lives
of another home
of another home
where the streets have no name

Take me take me!!

and then it explodes WOW!!

When you listen its just an indescribable feeling.

It may be an obvious question here, but I would like to know where and when this was performed - my son downloaded an MP3 and does not know where it came from, All i know is that its not R@H.
If someone could help, that would be great.

Thanks
Pamela

TAKE ME take me !

I?m sorry I can?t help you here, but this sounds really awesome. Hopefully someone knows the answer to your q

------------------
"The bass player's got it. The bass player's fucking got it." Bono, Boston 6-9-01

Here is all of what Bono Says

His voice to me was like a stream
Scarce heard word from word
could I divide.
The whole body of the man did seem
like one whom I had met in a dream.

Some begged and dreamt of other roads
Some begged and dreamt of other lives -
of another home -
of another home -
Where the streets have no name !

TAKE ME ...........................take me!!

All this is happening while Larry is banging his sticks together - you know what I mean, and then an explosion of sound !

Does anyone know where it is from

Thanks again

Pamela

Pamela,
I don't know if you're checking in on this thread anymore, but I can tell you at least one time Bono does this -- it's the Point Depot concert, 12/26/89, a bootleg called "Christmas at Point Depot."

Much of the text is from Wordsworth's The Leech-Gatherer:
"The old Man still stood talking by my side;
But now his voice to me was like a stream
Scarce heard; nor word from word could I divide;
And the whole body of the Man did seem
Like one whom I had met with in a dream;
Or like a man from some far region sent,
To give me human strength, by apt admonishment."

But ... Bono is actually saying "Sam Beckett dreamt..." Beckett had just died.

Mebythesea, i havn't checked this for ages , but this evening I just had an overwhelming feeling that something would be there!!I often have these moments - its quite creepy really.

ANYWAY, THANK YOU SO MUCH !!
Your information very interesting - at last I know !

Goodness, thanks for the info mebythesea and Pamela. Now, I really want that bootleg. I'm gonna have to look for it. mebythesea, I have to say you give one of the best reflections and interpretations of songs! I read the "I Will Follow" thread and it was VERY insightful.
