What is the story/meaning behind stay?
I want to say that it's about a abusive relationship but that would seem to shallow for the type of lyrics this band writes!

I don't know what the song was intended to be about, or even if it had a specific intention, but my spin on it has been that's its about yearning in general, and a one night stand specifically.

Its about angels who want to be human costing them their immortality.
