I think this song should be resung with different lyrics. Instead of Bono poking fun at himself, he should make fun of Larry. Here's a sample:

"Stand up to Lawrence of Arabia, he thinks that he's so suave
Eno, be careful, of drummers who only play well for Lanois
Stand up to Lawrence Olivier, he's acting like a baby
Stop playing simple 4/4 beats like a little old lady
Uh whooooo hoooo
Out from behind your kit
Come on ye lazyass, start playing like you give a shit"

Larry would then realize the song's about him.
On the recording, we hear a drumstick hit Bono's head. He falls over.
During the guitar solo we are treated to a cursing hissy fit between Bono and Larry.

Oh yea, Stand Up Comedy.

Feel free to come up with your own lines.

Apollogies in advance.

I have a good image of Larry hurling a half drunk pint at Bono’s head around the first “soul rockin’ people”, and the whole thing descending into immediate chaos from there. “That’s fucking lame even by my standards Bono!”

Haha, so true. We'll put that in there.
