I stumbled across this pretty randomly. I've not really listened much to REM (they're on the list though), but I found a used copy of New Adventures in Hi-Fi (1996 I believe) for two bucks and someone recommended I buy it. The eighth track, Bittersweet Me, has this lyric:

"I move across, candy floss
I move like a tank
I move across the room
with a heart full of gloom,
stronger than you think."

It's only two words, but the two of them together seems an unlikely coincidence. Possibly a knowing reference or homage? U2 have hung out REM a bit, after all...

I'm curious to hear what people think.

they also say "i've seen you walk unafraid, i've seen you in the clothes you made, can you see the beauty inside of me"

and REM has a song called Walk Unafraid on their album UP

just sayin'
