That's what it says in the lyric booklet - it must be a typo, right? It doesn't seem to make sense, especially with the line about the melody we haven't heard coming right after it. I can't tell if Bono sings what's in the lyric book on Crazy Tonight, though - but it sure sounds like it.

Typo, or if not, what's he getting at?

alternatively, it could be a take on the type of people sucked in by the bubblegum pop crap that is I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight - as in, any country that listens to the stupid youth of today will need a lot of pity.
