I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight

Spoken word intro:

When I see your soul
I lose control
You're a satellite
I'm gonna go crazy tonight

Verse 1:

Walking down the beach
You're just out of my reach
I've been at the hot dog stand all day
My...soul pushes you away

Prechorus:

It's not a hill, it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
It's just a few hundred feet
Until you are mine

Verse 2:

Every generation has a chance to save the world
My world was saved by you, girl
You have Spanish eyes, baby
Oh wey hey hey, lady

Chorus:

She's gonna go crazy tonight
She's 18 and her dress is tight
On the sunny beach of San Tropez
I always want to hear her say
That my sunglasses still make me look cool
Even though it's been 30 years since I last went to school

Bridge:

When the night falls on this dishonest city
We go down to the club, where the lights are so pretty
And when you get the Bailey's
I know I want you daily
And with the speed of a dart
You throw me a look that blows this whole fucking place apart

Chorus:

She's gonna go crazy tonight
She's 18 and her dress is tight
On the sunny beach of San Tropez
I always want to hear her say
That my sunglasses still make me look cool
Even though it's been 30 years since I last went to school

Outro:

Oh, woah, woah, woah
You're so out of control
The unforgiving sun is rising
I think there may be a line on my horizon

Best lyrics since Pop! Have you got any more?

I just checked the lyric list on @u2. Once again, they have some totally nonsense lyrics for the alternative version of NLOTH. I don't know why they just cannot get the lyrics right.

I think Bono's singing will be clearer on the album version. Especially the second verse is a horrible mishmash, you can hardly make out anything.

Here it is what I think I can understand in NLOTH, I don't expect them to be right, but maybe it can help some other to take the difficult sentences from another angle, let's see if we can get them with everybody's help!

NO LINE ON THE HORIZON

I know a girl
Who's like the sea
I watch her changing
Every day for me
oh yeah, whoooh….

One day she's still
The next she swells
Can hear the universe
In her sea shells
oh yeah, whoooh….

No line on the horizon
No line
No line on the horizon
No line

I know a girl
Hole in her heart
She said infinity's
A great place to start
Oh… no
You know it's gonna be alone

well let me set me in the husky(?)
sound of lover
I wanna be the sea
in the sail of love
whoooh….

No line on the horizon
No line
No line on the horizon
No line

ohhhhhhhhhhhh
ohhh ohhh ohhhh ohhhh

The song in my head
is now on my mind
I put you on pause
I try to rewind
alone
and replay, play

Every night
The same dream
I'm hatching some plot
Scheming some scheme
oh yeah, whoooh….

I'm a traffic cop
Rue de Marais (?)
the siren’s wailing and it's me
that wants to get away
whoooh….

No, No line
No, No line
No

No line on the horizon
No line
No line on the horizon
No line
No line on the horizon
No, no line

Where did you find these lyrics ? Where are the 45 sec clip lyrics there, i cant find them

^ Those lyrics are made up.

I think Super Yo's lyrics are legit, at least for the album version.

Super Yo's lyrics are fake too. Many of the lyrical snippets from the reviews we've seen so far were not included in his posts.

Mine are just more obviously fake. :D

it's safe to assume superyo's lyrics are legit. hot press released their review today, quoting lines from nloth and mos. lines unmentioned before yesterday.

I'm pretty sure he's legitimate. The line from album NLOTH that he posted was first mentioned today.

I don't know Super Yo and don't know where he got them, but I have been fortunate enough to hear the album a number of times now, and the lyrics he's posting are genuine. And if his situation is like most everyone else's who's heard the album already, he can't say where they're from because the label is really tight-fisted about anything—even seemingly harmless bits like lyrics—getting out early. Pretty typical corporate policy and all that.

"Stand Up" has a few of what I think are Bono's most cringe-worthy lines (see also: "Peace on Earth," "Love and Peace or Else"). "Unknown Caller" features a couple, too. They're nicely balanced out by some beauties all over the rest of the album, though.

It's a very good album, with a lot more to dig into (in my opinion) than the last two, although I do like them, as well. And a lot of the reviews that have been zooming around the Web have been quite accurate, except for the guy who said that "Moment of Surrender" feels like it goes on too long (it's not—think "So Cruel," lengthy but never boring) and that "Breathe" is weak (it takes a few listens, but man, it's glorious).

Not sure if anyone has posted about this or noticed yet, but the recent Hot Press review praises the lyric "Time is irrelevant, it's not linear/Then she put her tongue in my ear"
during NLOTH.

I fail to hear this line in NLOTH2. Is it possible some of the lyrics are different?
From the 45sec clip its clear Bono's delivery is quite different and he throws in a few extra lines too like No more line the second line of the chorus... although it could be another NO

Yeah, I guess in the alternate version he scraps that line and just rambles incoherently for the most part during the second verse. Apparently that line is on the album, though. I can't say I'm a big fan of those lyrics, but I'll take that over incomprehensible nothing.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

I still don't know how, after listening to the album once or twice, you can reconstruct all the lyrics. He has to have them written down, right?

I hope we'll have more soon. I love what I've heard so far. I believe NLOTH 2 has different lyrics from the album version. In the second verse Bono is rambling and it turns out to me a mishmash that you can hardly work out, like he's improvising.

I don't know Super Yo, but I've seen him post in several sites, and I have to say that he's usually very well informed and ahead of others, I think his lyrics are legitimate, I only doubt if he's got them written or if he's written what he's listened to, which may account for any inaccuracy of transcription.

The label sends out lyric sheets to legit reviewers so that they can quote songs accurately.

Or so I hear. :silent:
