Last Night On Earth

If you actually read the lyrics to 'Last night On Earth' in the Pop booklet, they aren't actually correct. In the final verse it states the lines:

The future is too predictable,
The past too uncomfortable.

Which don't actually appear in the song, so my question is where do these lyrics come from? I don't whether this is a question with an obvious answer or one of life's great mysteries.

Many times artwork and the recordings are happening at the last minute simutaneoously(especially with Pop) and Bono may be rerecording vocals after the artwork's already approved and change some lyrics at the very last minute. No big deal.

Yes, there are numerous examples of this.

E.g. in Elevation the original line is "a mole, living in a hole", while Bono sings "digging in a hole".
