Help- "Goodbye" U2 lyrics
Hey all. The youth pastor at my church, who I've become pretty good friends with over the years, is taking a new position and moving across the country soon. He's a young guy, early 30s, and a huge U2 fan. I plan on buying him a card, and in addition to writing something from myself, I thought maybe I'd like to put some appropriate lyrics on the inside of the card, since we share a love of the band.

Agreed...Kite is an excellent choice.
Well, maybe not so much the bit about hip-hop driving the big cars. More the chorus. |

How about "Seconds"?
Takes a second to say goodbye Say goodbye, oh, oh, oh It takes a second to say goodbye Say goodbye, oh, oh, oh, say bye bye Where you going to now Lightning flashes across the sky East to west, do or die Like a thief in the night See the world by candlelight Fall, rise and...fall, rise and...

This line from One Tree Hill might work:
I'll see you again When the stars fall from the sky And the moon has turned red Over One Tree Hill |

No different than all the suggestions about those recommending a funeral song.

My first fast choice would be Kite, but Walk On and especially One Tree Hill would prolly work. doctorwho is right about Kite being maybe more of a passing away thing?
