I was just reading the article about MTV's survey for the UK's favourite song lyrics and after reading the three U2 entrants, I wondered what everyone else on here thinks there favourite U2 lyrics are.

Mine are

Pop is a good album lyrically. The sound is very non-U2 like, but the lyrics are amazing. I love Mofo: "Mother, am I still your son? You know I've waited so long to hear you say so. Mother, you left and made me someone. Now I'm still a child, but no one tells me no. Looking for the sound that's gonna drown out the world, looking for the father of my two little girls..." It's so tragic, so endearing. It's terrific.

I also like Gone, Staring at the Sun, Last Night On Earth, and Please. Terrific songs. However, lately, I've been listening to a lot of the Joshua Tree. I love Running to Stand Still, With or Without You, One Tree Hill, and In God's Country. I could listen to them a million times and never get tired of them.
