The wails of the ulama

It's like a haunting sound that resonates through the air before dawn
As a kid I used to be so afraid of the wails and woke my mother up
I thought they were ghosts
But now I kinda like the idea of it:
me lying in bed listening to the pagan
yelling his heart out to his Allah
Strangely it's soothing even though it is Muslim
Last night I asked God
Is it you he's calling?

(this wasn't a racist post or anything)

a friend of mine had her wedding reception at a local hotel, and across from her was a muslim wedding....complete with uh...ulama calling by all the women! When they got the video back from their photographer, all that strange yell-yodelling was going on in the background!! Wacky...
