My choice

1. Nine Inch Nails - Zoo Station

3. The Script - One
4. Pearl Jam - Until The End Of The World
5. Lenny Kravitz - Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses

10. The Killers - Ultraviolet (Light My Way)
11. Muse - Acrobat
12. Keane - Love Is Blindness

Ax OneRepublic off that list and move The Script to their spot and find an artist who wont do One just like every other artist would and your list exponentially increases. Make a few more adjustments and you're around me.

fuck, i started to make a list but i soon realised i don't like enough people to really make one :depressed:

but yeah, depeche mode doing zoo station would've been awesome. and yeah add me to the (small) list of people who would've liked to have seen coldplay do u2. maybe a bit too spot on but nearly any song would've been good.

Again, I'm going with both living and deceased artists because, hell, this is fantasy, isn't it?

Zoo Station - Muse
Even Better Than The Real Thing - Metric
One - Jeff Buckley
Until The End of the World - The Horrors
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses - Slowdive
So Cruel - Red House Painters
The Fly - Jimi Hendrix Experience
Mysterious Ways - Prince
Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World - Whiskeytown
Ultraviolet - Broken Social Scene
Acrobat - TV On The Radio
Love Is Blindness - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

That is an awesome list! If that group covered the album it would probably be better than the original. It's a better list that I can come up with.

Zoo Station - Primal Scream (XTRMNTR style)
Real Thing - Queens of the Stone Age
One - The Good, the Bad, and the Queen
End of the World - Verve
Wild Horses - M83 w/Zola Jesus
So Cruel - Feist
the Fly - Can
Tryin'... - Sonic Youth
Ultraviolet - My Bloody Valentine
Acrobat - PJ Harvey
Love is Blindness - Spiritualized

Edge is a huge Nick Zinner fan so I was hoping Yeah Yeah Yeahs would be in on this. They would have brought some dirty funk to 'Mysterious Ways'. Bat for Lashes covering 'Love is Blindness' would have been cool, too.

Zoo Station - The Bravery
Even Better Than The Real Thing - The Killers
One - Jay-Z & Bryan Adams
Until The End of the World - The Verve
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses - Bruce Springsteen & Patti Smith ;)
So Cruel - The Script
The Fly - The Temper Trap
Mysterious Ways - Cut Copy
Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World - Arcade Fire
Ultraviolet (Light My Way) - The Airborne Toxic Event
Acrobat - Simple Minds
Love Is Blindness - Depeche Mode

Zoo Station - Coldplay
Even Better Than The Real Thing - My Bloody Valentine
One - The Rolling Stones
Until The End of the World - Pearl Jam
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses - Bruce Springsteen
So Cruel - Radiohead
The Fly - Muse
Mysterious Ways - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World - Foster The People
Ultraviolet (Light My Way) - The Killers
Acrobat - TV On The Radio or Simple Minds
Love Is Blindness - The Edge

Christ, now we're going to have pages and pages of these mostly ill-considered picks?

Good call on Nick Cave for Love is Blindness though, LM, even if I doubt he'd go near a U2 cover. I've never heard any comments from one about the other oddly enough; you'd think that considering they're contemporaries and often cover the same thematic ground you'd hear a mention at some point.

They've been covering U2 since 2000.

Ha, yes, that's true.

Also, to be clear, I don't wish Coldplay was on this covers CD; I just happened to notice that they were missing. I think Chris Martin even said once that Achtung Baby was one of the first albums he ever bought and he really likes it.

I'm excited about The Killers being on there, though. That should be interesting.

Zoo Station - Radiohead circa The King of Limbs
Even Better Than The Real Thing - MGMT circa Oracular Spectacular
One - Creedence Clearwater Revival circa Cosmo's Factory
Until The End of the World - The Who circa Who's Next
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses - Rolling Stones circa Sticky Fingers just to be silly
So Cruel - Waylon Jennings circa The Ramblin' Man
The Fly - Guns N Roses circa Use Your Illusion, but with Steven Adler instead of Matt Sorum
Mysterious Ways - Brazilian Girls
Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World - Peter Bjorn and John
Ultraviolet (Light My Way) - KISS circa Destroyer
Acrobat - REM circa Automatic for the People
Love Is Blindness - Led Zeppelin circa The Song Remains The Same

alternate: I would also like Brian Eno to record a solo version of One without anyone else's input. And I would want him to do the vocals too.
