and its not u2. I'm not quite as angry as the guy who posted the fuck you thread, but its insane how some people think u2 is done, washed up, don't sell records anymore. WHAT!!?? I don't just compare how their albums do vs newer artists . i compare them to their 1980's peers. and believe me they are winning that fucking battle. Ask def leopard how their post 1980's success is going. And huey lewis. And countless other hacks. bands like that.
Are u2 playing a package tour with cyndi lauper, and tommy two tone ( group that did jenny 867-5309)? to crowds of about 5,000? or playing family nights at great adventure (a amusement park in the us)?? maybe in some alternate reality. in fact , i have actually gotten a set list from this reality. A set list from where u2 never had a hit again after 1989. and are playing in situations i have listed above. Where AB sold about 150,000 copys, and the following albums sold even less. No hits, no videos, no big tours, no claw, no fucking superbowls, no nothing. Playing a 5,000 seater with 1 or 2 other past their prime bands. Here a glimpse of what that would be like.

yea thats it. and remember ,if u2 doesn't make it after the 80's, their 80;s albums don;t have big back catalog sales. So JT isn't a 10 million seller. And during these sets any "new" songs are big bathroom breaks. like any song after 1988. They don;t play as long because their sharing billing with another headliner. Yea, u2 would be on where are they now? on vh1. yea, bono and crew still rocking long after the fame has passed. And you see footage of them playing streets, and its not the epic event that you know it as. in fact while no one goes to the bathroom, no one really cares that much. I mean REALLY picture this reality . And then you will appreciate all they have given you in the last 20 years.
