Elvis Presley & America is one of my favorite songs
I haven't listened to War in years
In fact, I'm not sure I even own War
Passengers should be a U2 album
UF is as good as JT or AB
Bono's guitar should a) actually be played more live, and b) be turned up more in the mix live

I think Elevation is loads of fun (although the live versions - from both tours - are infinitely better than the album version).

The eleven worst songs of 2004. - This page owns

U2 should've opened Zoo TV with Zoopera, rather than Zoo Station

Vertigo was an awful tour, and Bono's singing and general 'copping' out of note is cringe-worthy.

Saying that, alot of these unpopular opinions stink of trying to be different for the sake of it. There's no way Pride and One are terrible songs. They're just the songs that get people into U2, it's only lack of novelty that does them disservice.

what is Zoopera?

oh and 2005 called, they want their joke back...

Zoopera is basically Zoopora spelt slightly wrong, even a miserable smarmy cow such as yourself might be able to join these dots without getting all 'superior' on me.

Also, I only discovered Maddox last year, which is irrevelant either way given that the article itself was written in 2004. Hardly a joke anyway, unlike yourself.

ok,

a. You are still spelling Zooropa wrong

b. I thought you might be being clever referencing the intro videos from the European/Australian leg with Zooropa and Ode To Joy at the beginning... I guess not.

c. Maddox is a joke.

d. Pleased to meet you as well

a. True, that was a glaring error on my part. But still, who gives a shit? Putting an 'e' in the wrong place is hardly error of the year, I guess I just assumed that it was a play of the word 'opera', which is still a massive possibility. Either way, it's not like Zooropa is a real word, I've managed to limp through life without spelling it correctly thus far so there's no need to change now.

b. It's not like they actually opened with it, my initial comment was that they should've played it instead of Zoo Station, as it's a better tune. A snippet coming through the P.A. as an intro isn't U2 actually playing anything.

c. Maddox is a genius, IMO. Even though the persona he takes on over the Internet is largely tongue in cheek, he still has some valid points to make and puts them across in a way that can barely be contested.

d. Hiya

Pop - great idea - miserable results
Zooropa - Can't hold my interest all the way through, kinda throwaway
U2 Vertigo Tour - Mish mash of ideas and songs......nowhere as good as Elevation Tour
If God Will Send His Angels - really, a single...
Boy - A decent, but not great debut
Red Light - a pretty good song
Bono's Live Aid mullet =

I love the 'Gone' remix on best of CD
I love Vertigo and All Because of You . . . and even Elevation
I'm glad Bono got rid of his bad old man's long hair :shudder:
I don't care if I never hear 'One' or 'Pride' live ever again
I don't care if the new album isn't the 3rd, 4th or whatever masterpiece . . . I just wanna hear the :censored:er some time before I die :D

oh, the weight has been lifted :applaud:

I hate One. Especially live. Especially with the huge ass speeches.
Accoustic U2 bores me, Stay would be much better electric, the rest of the songs I don't care much about.
I love WITS, and there was a period when it came out I had some sort of bet where it was all I listened to. *opens iTunes* Playcount... 1198.
The mullet amuses me, I actually liked that look on Bono.
Pornstache Edge is my favourite Edge of all time.
Pride live is awful. Same with WOWY after ZooTV.
I love the remix of Gone.

I Like one, but I don't like the bit at the end of the video where the two cars are quite clearly not going to crash.

Village people outfits rule.

Paul McGuinness is becoming a bit of a knob.

And Treasure should have been number 1.

I Will Follow is one of my least favourite songs on Boy
The Refugee and Red Light are GREAT songs
40 is the weakest song on War
Elvis Presley and America is a really great song
The Unforgettable Fire kicks The Joshua Tree's ass on every level
When Love Comes to Town is one of the best songs on R&H
Zooropa is an insanely uneven album
Numb is boring as hell!
Bono's falsetto ruins Lemon
The Wanderer is one of U2's best songs
Your Blue Room Is the best song on Passengers
The Boom-chas in Discotheque are embarrassing and cringe worthy
Stuck In a Moment is one of U2's best songs (and yes I mean the album version)
Wild Honey is such a great fun song
Native Son isn't better than Vertigo
Vertigo Isn't very good anyway
One Step Closer is the best song on Bomb
All U2 albums are at least great
Windows in the Skies is one of U2's best songs, it's just pure joy
ZooTV and PopMart are the tours I'd least like to see; they just look so over the top and boring...

This is a good thread!

-I secretly like Peace on Earth :reject:
-I can't stand Lemon
-I love Vertigo
-I like accoustic Desire a la Elevation :reject::reject::reject:
-Rattle and Hum (album, not DVD) is freakin awesome
-Please and Gone album versions are the greatest.
-Wild Irish Rose and Alex Descends Into Hell should have been on Acthung Baby instead of Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World and Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
-I love the Influx Remix of Elevation
-I also love the William Orbit Radio Edit of Electrical Storm
-Perhaps most unpopular of all, (for reasons I cannot fathom), I LOVE the Refugee

:D

 I agree 100% with all of that!

Unfortunately I cannot agree even 1% with any of that.

Okay... I'll bite.

-I think Unforgettable Fire sucks for the exception of "Bad" which is even better live.
-I like the Elevation, tour more than ZooTv. The performances were more passionate. Macphisto and love is blindness were freaking awesome though.
-Bono is a good man and I appreciate all the work he's doing--but he is coming off as a real prick sometimes and lately it's becoming harder and harder to still like the guy.
-Most U2 B-Sides are not very good and I'm glad they stayed B-sides. Especially the earlier ones.
-I like Bono's NEW voice better than his 80s and 90s voice.
-90% of Rattle & Hum is just awful. same goes for the movie.
-I think the "Passengers" album is awful. I love instrumental music but bleh! Miss Sarajevo is great though.

 I agree 100% with all of that!

Woo! Didn't know there was anyone else on this board who Like PoE and the Refugee!

I just thought of another one. I don't think its necesaarily unpopular but its unusual. I think Luminous Times is in the top 3 greatest U2 songs.

pop is one of their best
I liked their last two albums
One is shite! (Cant believe how many people think its their best/one of their best)
October is their worst album
Bono gets crapped on a lot more than he should (larry should get the blame)
I still havent found .. is boring, the same can be said for the album version of mysterious ways (the live version is amazing though)
I just dont get passengers, i thought it was rubbish
Miami is great, in a fucked up way
Saturday night is one of U2's best songs
