Matthew McConaughey was a guest DJ while I was listening. Played Red Hill Mining Town and One Tree Hill back to back. Have heard mostly album tracks so far.

Bono acknowledged Pop, strange time’s we live in . [emoji2]

The Bono Calling interview with Chris Rock was pretty good. Thought it would be 5 minutes, was much longer, well over half an hour.

I thought the Close To The Edge conversation with David Byrne was also very good. That one was about 1 hour, with the two of them discussing music, songwriting, the state of the world and how that reflects on music, etc.

Seems they are replaying this exact track list this morning.

Shocked they played something from Pop before SOI or ATYCLB.

And who is the idiot who thinks Stay is on Achtung Baby? Turn in your fan card.

I guess it’s not just their tour set lists that are static.

Sirius just pulls the data from the track file - so they must be playing the Stay file that was in the Super Deluxe Reissue (which included Zooropa)

You'd think that on U2 Radio they would focus mostly on songs that are not usually played on regular radio? That looks like the best of compilation with a few extra goodies.

I'm glad they chose Moment of Surrender, though.

I'm really enjoying this U2 channel. It was hard to know what to expect

I've enjoyed the first 3 episodes of the "Desire" show: Fans pick the 5 songs they desire most, and host their own intros describing what the songs mean to them. They've each picked some great ones and give some interesting stories. Tim has a great radio voice... not quite as epic as mcconaughey, but still.

(Is there already a thread about this? If so, please direct me. I've been looking around the web for the songs that I missed from a couple of these episodes. )

I'm thinking about submitting my Top 5 to them, but I have to keep removing some of mine when I hear these other fans already picked them. Rather than picking my most favorite songs to hear live, that I'm sure everyone else will say are obvious (Ultraviolet, Streets, COBL, Elevation, OOC, Kite, NLOTH, The Fly, Pride, etc.), I'm thinking it would be more interesting to select some more obscure songs that I have a personal anecdote about each.
So, currently, I'm thinking this (but it may change next hour):
1. Red Flag Day
2. New York
3. Numb
4. MLK
5. Yahweh

... Has anyone else submitted an entry? If so, what were your 5?

Or, if one of you has already been picked and recorded an episode, let us know when it comes on.

Its probably going to come down to what you/they mean by that. They’ve already said they’re going to highlight less well-known album tracks and live ones. Which might not be anything revolutionary to fans like us, but to more casual fans its probably a nice mix.

Edge did mention rare/unreleased stuff and how it had been kind of done digitally already, so I’m not sure if we’ll get anything from “the vault” so to speak, but new short-form stuff for the radio will happen. I think it might come back down to their usual standards of quality and what they see as being fit for public consumption.

Desire program on U2X radio Sirius XM channel 32, and McConaughey

Also, (spoiler alert), here are the picks of guest DJ, Matthew McConaughey. I've got to say, I agree he did a great job. Great choices. Sometimes his whole cool-man mojo doesn't work for me, but this time, man, he was right on. A very enjoyable listen, that I recommend to each of you because he does have a way with words.

New Year's Day
Bad
Silver and gold
Hawk moon 269
Love rescue me
God part2
Pride
Red Hill Mining town
One Tree Hill
Summer of Love
Elevation

It's also the first couple of days... I wouldn't imagine they want to start with Pete The Chop

Right. I wouldn't make any judgment on what's been played so far, considering it just started.

How do you submit that again? Through the SiriusXM website or something else?
