I like this French singer named Etienne Daho and recently noticed some similarities in a few songs.

Daho's "chanson pour caméléon" and U2's "Kite". Listen to the verse melodies. Daho's track is from 1991. Kite is from 2000.

Also, Dani (another Friench singer) and Daho's "comme un boomerang" (2001) reminds me a lot of "Love Is Blindness", especially the guitar "groans" at the end, and the chord progression in general.

Check it out dudes.

Thanks for checking it out. Think about it in 3/4 time and slowed down. Check that video again. That guitar part comes in at 2:25 that is very much like the Love Is Blindness guitar "groans", especially as Edge played them live.

You can hear a bit of the other one at

Amazon.com : Music Sampler

Track 27 - listen to the whole sample, the melody comes in at the end

Yeah, I can see where you think they are similar. It's a rather short part of the melody, maybe a 3 or 4 note run that is similar...

If you look hard enough you'll find those all day long.

the cord progression reminds me of some Stones song, ca 1965...

the solo is a bit like Clapton on "While my guitar gently weeps".

Very little LIB.
