Metallica and U2..........................................................

Not because Bono sang a snippet of enter sandman means they can share a stage.......................

I got the Darksounds version from demonoid, I'm liking that one the best, haha I already have like 4 or 5 versions of the album.}

Edit: Downloading the Moderus version of the album, I didn't have that one, thanks a lot for the up!

AC/DC is far bigger then Metallica ever was or ever will be, and to most they would be considered metal.

Nobody has sold more albums world wide in the Soundscan era then AC/DC....a Metallica and U2 show would be cool though, but very hard to get tickets for :)

Maybe that would be the solution to selling out multiple stadium shows in most markets though :)

I don't know about the bands playing together, but having just seen Metallica live last week, I have to say,,those guys are still fantastic. Their stage presence was extraordinary and they sounded tight. Comparing U2 to Metallica may be a little of an apples and oranges thing, but both still have 'it' after all these years.

I think that AC/DC falls more into Hard Rock category. When you say Heavy Metal not many metalheads think of AC/DC... and when I look at soundscan era best selling albums chart AC/DC is below Metallica:scratch:

I believe this is USA only sales since 1991-2007...but it shows Metallica is certainly a big US draw.

i would probably vomit violently if this ever happened.

That was my reaction when I read the thread title. On the other hand, an AC/DC - U2 show? The only way I could be happier is if I got adopted by the Hewsons.

Nice to see Alan Jackson at 8 in that list. But y'know there's something Shania Twain is on the top 10.

Anyway, it would be nice to see Bono talking over other guitarrist's solos.

j/k... I like when Bono talk/sing over Edge's "solos"

Haha i'd love to see that; Metallica are one of those long-running bands that i haven't heard U2 acknowledge at any point in the past, despite the fact that they are possibly their closest current contemporaries. I reckon a duet between Metallica and Bono on 'Nothing else matters' would be awesome personally.

their closest current contemporaries are depeche mode. if you look at each band's history theyve been pretty damned similar. their albums releases are almost identical output-wise. and they both started the same year

Formation (1977-1980)
one band has a singer who uses a higher register and one band uses a lower one.

I personally think a collaboration between the two bands would produce astounding results.

My 2-cent comparison

A couple solid career-arc comparisons have already been posted.

I figured I'd toss one in as well, I thought a few specific tweaks might be helpful.
