I've seen this thread pop up before, but let's play again.
What songs currently not staples do you think should become staples at U2's live shows? And what songs currently staples do you think shouldn't be staples?
Me, I'd like to see "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" become a staple. It was attached to a Batman movie and on the '90s Best Of, so people know it. And even if they don't, it's got a monster riff. It's one of U2's best songs and I'd like to see it get its due.
As for staples that should be retired - I'll say "Elevation" and "City of Blinding Lights." The former is definitely fun and the latter is uplifting, but U2 has far better tracks in both those veins. Sure, let's hear the big tracks from ATYCLB and HTDAAB - "Beautiful Day" (uplifting) and "Vertigo" (fun) - but those second-fiddle singles from the '00s don't need to take up setlist space.
