Re-Ranking NLOTH

For a long time, I thought it should have been Magnificent. Recently, I've revised my opinion so that now I believe it ought to have been the album version of Crazy Tonight. I don't hate Get On Your Boots, but I do agree that it was a poor choice for a single, esp the first one.

I still feel that NLOTH is one of the band's most underrated albums. It's clearly different from any of the others, which you can't necessarily say about all U2 releases.

The thing I like the least about the album? A few of the SONG TITLES. So I'm writing my list with what the tracks SHOULD HAVE been called...

1. Breathe
2. Moment of Surrender
3. No Line on the Horizon
4. Crazy Tonight (song titles shouldn't be 9 words long!)
5. Magnificent
6. Fez/Being Born
7. Stand Up (drop the "Comedy")
8. White as Snow
9. Cedars of Lebanon
10. Unknown Caller
11. Boots (or Meet Me in the Sound)

I also agree that Magnificent should have been the lead single. Boots probably shouldn't have been a single at all...

I don't know about rankings, but "Fez-Being Born" is transcendent.

Am I the only person who thinks the "Brothers" version of Winter is light years better than the linear version?... I already know I'm in the minority here, but I think Winter (linear version) is worse than SUC.

I totally agree. The song actually sounds finished in its Brothers incarnation.

I've listened to this album less than any other U2 album and couldn't rank the songs because I don't remember a lot of them. I like Magnificent and Crazy Tonight (concert!)
