Zoo Station is just too brilliant to be anything other than the best of the album. After only listening to the U2 of the '80s previously, it was quite an experience. Like if you'd fall down unconscious after a blow to the face and then wake up in a hospital bed all full on morphine. It just feels good!

)Also great album of U2. TheEdge25, you did right thing, as for me, that you began with the albums of 90s because, as for me, the best albums U2 released in 90s.
Brilliantly great.
1 - Love is blindness - When I listened to this at Zoo TV, this track reminded me of Pink Floyd by the sound and the atmosphere. I love this style very much.
2 - The fly - Strength, rock-ness, vertigo (forgive me for the neologism
) - it's all about this one.

Not a bad album but I still think AB is better. I never have been a huge Pink Floyd fan, which is odd because my dad really likes them and I usually take to what he likes.

Anyhoo, back to the topic I suppose. I regard Achtung Baby as my favorite U2 album, but Dark Side is my favorite album overall.

for this album . . . and, back in the day it was such a pleasure to give the finger to those enlightened souls who had delighted in slagging and slandering the band to death after the supposed catastrophe that was R&H . . . one of my fondest memories is of waking in Dublin on the morning that The Fly was to be played for the first time on radio . . . sitting in the bedsit with my equally excited travelling companion, one ear bud each of the ole sony walkman plugged in our ears . . . and hearing the opening strains of that song and thinking the roof had just been blown clear off . . . then Bono, all cigarettes and whisky and straight up sex whispering those lyrics in our ears . . .covered in goosebumps with smiles longer than the Liffey plastered all over our faces . . . good times indeed
By the time the album was released we were back in London, sharing a place with a basquillion other aussies in Islington (of course) . . . lined up at the local record store in Angel, jittery with excitement and anticipation and flew home like a woman possessed . . . we had a 'listening party' to end them all . . . sitting and listening in stunned silence at these glorious sounds, the staggering reinvention, experimentation and sheer bravery of a band that had always always held a special place in our hearts; that cd did not move from the stereo for weeks,possibly months and became the soundtrack to some of the seminal moments in my young adult life . . . it was actually pretty easy for me to rank the songs . . . I love them all, but obviously some just resonate more strongly than others; and hearing this album played out live on the ZooTv tour still ranks as one of the more incredible nights of my concert going life

1a. Until The End Of The World - Muted on the album compared to live, but nothing was going to budge this. Favourite U2 song and was so absolutely stoked that it was played at the only live show I've been to thus far (Melbourne II Vertigo).
1b. Lady with the Spinning Head (Extended Dance Mix) - I had to slot this in damnit You can hate all the other B-sides, but you have to love this.
