nooo wayy...

Like, I'm surprised. Sure something I never expected. The translation isn't perfect but it seems accurate, tho I'm not sure what pléiade means.

But aren't the nobel prizes handed out in Sweden?

Edit: From the nobel peace site:

2008 - Peace, Martti Ahtisaari

And here's more about the summit:

The World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureats | Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network

This year's theme is Human Rights and a World Without Violence

Every year, Nobel Peace Prize winners gather for the World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, with the purpose of developing strategies and policies to further international peace and universal human rights. This year Lech Walesa, Mikhail Gorbachev and Betty Williams are just some of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates expected to attend.
David Taylor Ives is executive director of the Albert Schweitzer Institute at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Ha has been invited to address the summit this year in Paris. WNPR's Ray Hardman spoke with Ives from his home in Rhinebeck, New York.

No, no, it's not the Nobel Peace Price, as someone pointed out, Martti Ahtisaari won it this year. It's confusing because of the bad translation of the original article. This is a commité led by Gorbachov with Peace Prize winners, they give out an award every year to a person for their humanitarian efforts. I think Bob Geldof got the award last year.

Proud of Bono.

Yes, as stated previously in this thread, the award that Bono will be given is an award from previous Nobel Peace Prize winners for his humanitarian activities. :cute:

It is NOT the official Nobel Peace Prize but an award of this stature will not go unnoticed by the official Nobel Peace Prize Committee in making their decisions in the years to come.

BRAVO, B0N0 ! :applaud:

I think so too, and in case you didn't know, he has indeed been nominated for the NPP before.

Yes, he has been nominated several times already. I cannot judge if he deserves it, but if al Gore deserves the Peace Prize than even I deserve it.

Anyway it is all dependant on these people:

Ole Danbolt Mjøs, Berge Furre, Sissel Marie Rønbeck, Inger-Marie Ytterhorn and Kaci Kullmann Five.

Well, according to South Park...he's got a whole house full of these kind of awards...HE'S GOT TO B #1 AT EVERYTHING, CAN'T SETTLE FOR #2

I think they are having some kind of Peace Prize concert in Oslo tonight. Will be shown on Swedish television. Scarlet Johansen and Michael Caine are the hosts. Do you think Bono will be there?

Does anyone know when exactly Bono will receive the prize, because it says the summit is Dec. 11-13. It will be held in Paris, btw.

^ Thank you. :)

Btw, the date is Friday, December 12, so it's tomorrow at noon.

Hopefully there will be a video or Bono's speech somewhere.

That haircut takes years off him... His image there is like a weird hybrid of Pop era Bono with the shades and haircut and Joshua Tree era Bono with the suit jacket and the scarf. it kinda works! What if the album is a mixture of those two eras as well...!!!
