O/T Garbage song - Thirteen

I didn't know where to post this, but I found this song on Youtube, it's a Garbage cover of Big Star's song "Thirteen". I can imagine U2 doing a similar version and it reminds of a U2 song but I can quite think of it, a song from the last 10-15 years. Anyway, was just interested in what people thought.

I'm a huge fan of Big Star, and while I can appreciate Garbage taking an unusual spin on the original, I think this cover removes all of the spontaneity and innocence from the track. It does sound like U2 though...around the Pop era. It reminds me of that Happiness Is A Warm Gun cover a bit.

Actually the verses are reminding of 80s U2, something from TUF or JT, I think it's the bass part that sounds familiar, a bit like Running To Stand Still but particularly thinking of Promenade from The Unforgettable Fire.
