Got a U2 'shrine'? Let it shine! Part II

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Holy cow!!! What an awesome collection!!!:love: The collection I had in college paled in comparison to what you have!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Finally took a pic of this gift I got from my bassteacher. Does anyone have a clue where it can be from? He was a big U2 fan in the 80s but didn't remember where he got it. :hmm: Was it official merch on the UF tour?

 I used to have a magazine fold out of this photo hanging up in my room. Definitely from the UF days...Would have died to have this hanging in my dorm room:drool:.

^DUDE, you are my hero

Awesome collection
After I spend all my money on this tour, I'm going to start saving yet again so I can expand my very, very humble and lowly collection

So I've since moved from my rented pad with my wife to a new pad.

Luckily....I have a semi finished basement. I was allowed to have my U2 display flourish, but when packing it all in when I moved, I decided that I needed to do something different.

So unfortunately, a lot of things are "packed" in boxes......but I decided to renew my new display in a "classier" and "neater" way.

Stay tuned shortly for the new U2 shrine....consisting more of important items in frames and displayed better.

Cool, can't wait to see. One of these days I need to take some pics of mine, though yours definitely rules all! :)

I need to repost some pictures of my shrine, too. I'm looking for something right now, though, & I'd really like to have it up before I take any more pictures.

Can't wait to see your new arrangement, Mark! :)

Finally done......U2 Shrine 2.0
So my wife and I moved. There is still a TON of stuff that is not on display. I decided that since we have a new pad, I wasn't going to put everything on display as I did before. This time I was going to try to frame the more important stuff so that things didn't look all random....a little more dignified.... Here it is U2 Shrine 2.0 :) P.S. There is still a wack of stuff in boxes. I have no more room.

Welcome to the dungeon!

My U2.com lithograph. It cost me a lot to get this sent to my house. Officially numbered. 28/500. It cost me my unborn child to put it in a frame.

To the left is a scrap book my wife made for me with my pictures in it. Center is a picture of Adam and I. To the right are my first ticket stubs as well as Larry's drumstick given to me by him. In the center is my first photo album. The pictures are disposable camera pictures.

The was a lovely present given to my by Joseph Samardzich. We didn't know each other and we both were at Shoppers Drug Mart developing pictures. Unbeknownst to us we were both developing U2 pictures at the same time. The center picture he took. I took the surrounding four. Watch out for Pocket Ninja. He guards the palace.

This picture was bought by those goofy artists outside of Skydome one day. I was on a class trip with the kids in my class and they spotted the U2 poster amongst Hanna Montana. I had to buy it to show them who's the boss.

Some ticket stubs and guitar pics. The bottom two green pics are actual Bono pics. Top right setlist was Bono's setlist from the floor from the Pittsburgh show in 2005. It was given to me by Bono's guitar tech. Second Bono setlist was given to my good friend Gvox in Miami and he gave it to me.

My 1st - "paper" anniversary gift. Zoo TV was the first U2 shows I ever went to.

After a bit of a mess up by the framing company who did my lithograph, they gave me a free frame and told me to come back with whatever U2 item I had and they would frame it for free. So I gave them my book. Signed by the B man in Toronto, outside of Edge 102.1. This was another one of those magical days where I felt as though I had clouds under every step.

My first Bono autograph ever. It says, "Hey little brother, take the heat from the sun." - From AMAAW.....which are the lyrics I sang to Bono nervously the first time I met him.

u2brother...very impressive. i like your style. like your framing and such. the picture of you 2 on the hood of your car is an amazing shot. treasure it forever.

got 2 questions for ya,

1) thinking of set up my own shine for awhile, but how do you ever get all your magazines to sit up right? do you find they are constantly falling over or getting the edges bent?

2) how many times have you met the man? you have so many things authographed?

cheers!

Amazing as always! Very nice remastering of the shrine. :applaud:

HTDAAB. And maybe keep an eye on ebay. I got mine brand new never opened off ebay at a pretty decent price.

Oh wait. Actually now I'm not so sure, because I just remembered I got my ATYCLB brand new on ebay as well, so I might have got HTDAAB at Tower records back when it still existed. I can't remember now. :( However I still would keep checking ebay. :)

Walking into your basement would have the same feeling as walking into a museum! To see all that in person would be almost as amazing as meeting the band! you've got so much history and so many wonderful, interesting stories in such a small space. Thank you for sharing your shrine with us!:applaud::wave:

U2BROTHR, that is amazing! I can't wait to meet you! I am sure you have some great U2 stories to tell!

You can thank my wife for suggesting that the move to the house now required me to frame things.

I actually don't have any magazines on display. I also had the same problem.....they fall over, the edges get bent. So I left them all in storage. If you look at my previous display in my apartment, I had the magazines on display and they would constantly fall over.

I've met the B man around 6 times I think.

Thank you bonocomet.....and you are CORRECT!

I can't seem to find Bomb anywhere....and for a decent price!

I love being able to walk into this place at will and remember being there for so much of it. :)

My stuff is nowhere near organized as this. I'm tempted to have you house my stuff for me, you'll be better to it!

You can always frame the magazines. I know it would cost a lot but if you want to go a cheaper route, Wal Mart sells frames and they look nice and are of good price and a magazine will usually fit in the frames. I do this for all my U2 mags and they look nice and it keeps them protected.
